Magnus - Human Blacksmith

Post  Magnus on Sat Jan 21, 2012 9:56 pm

As the lords blacksmith, Magnus worked hard which kept him in great physical shape and proficient with weapons. He ended up with no work after his shipments of iron were being hijacked by bandits. The lord refused to help him so he took matters into his own hand and defeated the bandits. Disappointed and upset with the lack of support from the lord, he quit his job and started helping people in need in exchange for a few coins. He now spends most of his time in the local tavern looking for work or on the road. Even though Magnus is a good person with a big heart, he has no respect for the king and little use for his laws.

up to you, but if you change "king" for a local "lord", ragnar could share a connection with Magnus as that lord's son. could prove entertaining trying role play ragnar trying to gain magnus' respect after having been screwed over by his father.

Works for me. Maybe Magnus agreed to help out Ragnar and in return will give him 1/2 his gold... lol

I'll let you come up with a relation between the two and I'll give you my two cents after.

Have you considered the following:

Brawn +1
Agility -2
Wits +0

I'm thinking of using Brawn+Craft(Smithing). This will make you an overall much better smith, and I don't think that day-to-day lumbering smith would of cared much about being a bit of an oaf when it came to the finer aspects of life.

This would also allow you to wield a much bigger weapon (such as a large hammer) when one becomes available (compared to a smith wielding a dagger, staff, or spear) as well as bulkier armor.

Just a thought...
